How to get here
Today, Prosecco is one of the best-known and most popular sparkling wines around the world, where it has become an icon of Italian style. Its story began in the hills of Conegliano Valdobbiadene, in the Veneto Region of north-eastern Italy, situated 50 km from Venice and 100 km from the Dolomites. It is still here that the finest quality is obtained, certified by the zone’s D.O.C.G. (denominazione di origine controllata e garantita) status. Wine production in this area dates back to time immemorial and, over the centuries, man has – through his hard work – modified the morphology of the countryside in favour of vineyards, thus creating a landscape that is so unique that it is now a candidate to become a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
The area can be reached on the A27 autostrada (exits Conegliano, Vittorio Veneto Sud or Vittorio Veneto Nord) or via the railway stations of Conegliano, Susegana and Vittorio Veneto.
